Spread over 61,600 Sq Kms, the Indira Sagar Lake at Madhya Pradesh has over a 100 islands, each distinctive and a few beaming with wildlife. All the islands form the part of River Narmada’s backwater and the islands can be visited by taking a quick boat ride that would take about 45 minutes to 1 hour (one way) and the ride is sure to thrill you and offer scenic views at par like a trip to Kerala’s Allepey!
The Island of Hanumantiya is one of the many little islands here and it was only recently that the Madhya Pradesh Tourism has opened the Island for Public.
The beautiful Island offers you a chance to go camping, bird watching and trekking in one of the thickly forested trails or try the numerous water sports activities that include wind surfing, parasailing, jet skiing, banana ride, water zorbing etc. There’s even night camping under the stars!

Recently in the month of February 2016 the Jal Mahotsav, a festival of fun and activities was held at Hanuvantiya Island and was a huge success.
