Corbett River Creek – Truly a getaway!

Located at Marchula, a few km’s away from the usual array of boutique hotels and high prices resorts that attract the Jungle travellers of Jim Corbett lies ‘Corbett River Creek’ a green paradise in the otherwise dull environment. And just as the name suggests, it is located right across the Kosi River and is indeed a charming little resort perfect for a getaway.

Our Son loves water and choosing a riverside destination is a must when we travel. So as we searched at Dhikuli for our kind of place someone happened to mention about a place near Marchula that was reasonable on the pocket yet a premium resort with a spa, we knew we must check it out. And we weren’t disappointed!

Corbett River Creek Resort & Spa is quite well spread out and has a good canopy of trees and plants amidst well laid out gardens and that makes the place beautiful and cool ever during the hot summers. Winter’s the place is also home to many migratory birds that can be seen enjoying the pleasant weather.

The accommodation here includes 7 cottages that are designed spaciously with  a lovely sit out balcony that gives you views of the green gardens and the river basin with a jungle in the background.

I found the rooms quite spacious, elegantly decorated and the bathrooms in immaculately clean! The sprawling lawns offer a nice place to play with kids and they can simply take off while you can cuddle with a book. We even spotted a herd of deer and of course there were plenty of monkeys running around too!

They have their own little organic vegetable garden, an in-house bakery and freshly prepared meals. The staff is friendly and in just 2 days we did make a couple of friends too.

The resort Spa is called ‘SPAndana’ and is well equipped with steam and sauna. There is an array of personalised beauty and care packages to choose from that uses organic products.

The buffet food offered at Vaidnanya – the resorts Multi Cuisine Restaurant here serves up yummy Indian and Continental spread and would also cater for special orders/preparations on requests.  I personally loved eating breakfast out at ‘Samara’ the outdoor restaurant at the Resort.

Our Son enjoying a game of cricket and some running around in the wide garden ground.

The resort provides numerous adventure and sports activities and is therefore quite a popular choice for holding corporate events and team outings too. They even have a separate pool for kids to plunge in!

There are a few nature trails that can be taken nearby and along the River Ramganga giving you an added opportunity for adventure.
